Quality Seats Update: 2023-2024 Oklahoma School Report Card Data
The Oklahoma State Department of Education released the 2023-2024 School Report Card Grade data last December. Based upon 2023-2024 enrollment data, the percentage of quality seats has increased in Oklahoma City from 17.52% on the 2023 school report cards to 20.33% on the 2024 school report cards. The market share of quality seats has increased for both charter schools and OKCPS district schools. The number of quality schools has increased as well from a total of 15 to 18 (12 to 14 for charters and 3 to 4 for district schools).
Of the 18 quality schools in Oklahoma City in 2024, six received an “A” grade and 12 received a “B” grade. In 2023, there were three “A” schools and 12 “B” schools. Every school that was considered quality in 2023 maintained their quality status on the 2024 school report cards. The three new quality schools are:
Dove Science Academy South OKC (“C” in 2023 to “B” in 2024)
Santa Fe South Early Childhood (“No Grade” in 2023 to “B” in 2024)
Southeast MS (“C” in 2023 to “B” in 2024)
The 2023 quality schools that went from a “B” grade to an “A” grade are:
Harding Charter Preparatory HS
Dove Science Academy ES
Classen HS of Advanced Studies
A list of the 2024 quality schools is below.
It is encouraging to see this number grow as we hope this is a trend of increasing the number of schools providing high quality options to families. Fuel OKC's focus will remain on identifying strategies to increase this number including making investments in schools to increase the number of schools achieving an A or B on the report card and supporting programs that will support quality schools across the city.
